Russian Blog 2.2
This week I started making my house more immersive. By surrounding myself with the language, I should be able to learn it faster. In order to do this I have started labelling my whole house in Russian vocab. This way I am constantly seeing and comprehending the words. So far, it has worked pretty well. I have already memorized many of the new words.
On the other hand, it has been rather annoying to try to sound out words all around my house. I have also gotten a few headaches from the constant strain. I think in the long run though, it will help me.
In the future I also plan on putting on Russian movies, tv shows, and music so that I can listen to it as well.

  1. I am impressed with your dedication to this! That sounds exhausting. I'm sure all the hard work will pay off once you're in Russia. What's been the hardest word or phrase that you've learned?

    1. I had a really hard time learning how to say hi. The привет form is easy but the здравствуй form has a lot of sound that are hard to say together. Phonetically it is Preevet for the first one and zdravstvuy for the second.

  2. Learning a language is tough, especially when you've only learned Latin-based languages before. I've attempted a Duolingo Russian unit, but the different alphabet was too much for me. Great work sticking with this!

  3. That's a great way to learn a language! I had never even thought of that before. This sounds like a tough Genius Hour, but I'm sure you'll get through it. Keep up the good work!

  4. I really wish I would have thought about this during my Spanish years. This seems to be a great way to learn and I feel like as long as you get the pronunciations down, you will figure this language out fast!
